Kara O'Laughlin (Founder)
Kara is a nationally recognized animal massage therapist and creator of both Canine Bodywork Online and Equine Bodywork Online. After graduating from the Northwest School of Animal Massage, she began her career focusing on equine sports massage and continues to be active in the equine massage industry. She returned to the Northwest School of Animal Massage to become certified in canine massage after focusing her studies on foundation and rehabilitation techniques for dogs.
Prior to her career as an animal massage therapist, Kara worked in international higher education. She loves to blend her passion for animal bodywork and her skills as an educator to bring knowledge and awareness to dog owners. She believes every dog can benefit from canine bodywork and is thrilled to offer Canine Bodywork Online so that dog lovers can reap the profound benefits of working on their own pups, and so that they can set their dogs up to live comfortable lives for years to come.

Lola Michelin
Lola Michelin founded the Northwest School of Animal Massage in 2001. She has practiced animal massage for over 30 years and massage for people since 1998. A graduate of the Animal Science program at Michigan State University, she has work experience in both the veterinarian and zoological fields.
Currently, Lola maintains a private practice for animals in addition to teaching. She consults with zooligical park veterinary teams and owns Paxhia Farm, an equine retirement and rehabilitation facility on Vashon Island. She speaks and writes regularly on the topic of animal bodywork and is active in promoting standards of practice and legislation for the industry. Her interests include equestrian competition, rowing and sustainable farming. Her work has been featured in numerous magazines and she appears on television and radio as an advocate for animal therapies.

A.J. Cabrera
A.J. is the founder for Cabrera Animal Wellness, a wellness collaborative providing holistic services to San Diego animals. A.J.’s experience with animals spans decades. Over the years he has experienced a multitude of issues with his canine friends, ranging from Hip Dysplasia, ACL & Knee, Aggression, Separation Anxiety, Diabetes and Blindness.
In 2016, during his quest to further his education on holistic therapies to improve the life of an animal suffering from such issues, A.J. discovered Animal Massage. A.J. has completed a Small Animal Massage certification course at the Northwest School of Animal Massage. A.J. recently broadened his scope of services by additionally receiving his Equine massage practitioner certification.
